German flour dumplings

400 g flour
2-3 eggs (depending on size)
250 ml mineral water (carbonated)
salt, pepper, some nutmeg
As sauce a cream sauce or
breadcrumbs tossed in butter

Flour, eggs, mineral water and spices in a bowl
Use a stiff spoon/ stirring spoon to stir the dough beat until it is smooth or bubbles form

Bring salted water to the boil with a little broth.
With a hot tablespoon previously held in water,
cut out dumplings and put them into the boiling salted water.
When the spoon is nice and hot, the dumplings slide off the spoon well.
The dumplings come up in the water and are ready in about 10-15 minutes.
Take them out with a skimmer.

Either make a cream sauce from cream or
Fry the butter with breadcrumbs and pour over the dumplings.

Goes well with apple sauce or I also love endive salad.

A very simple recipe that we always enjoy eating from time to time.

If there is anything left over, fry the next day in a pan, the dumplings cut a little smaller – mmhhh, delicious!
